VirtuLaw Group
VirtuLaw seeks attorneys and law students to join the VirtuLaw Group - a global, collaborative forum for legal education, research and debate. As a member of the VirtuLaw Group you will learn techniques that are critical to control digital assets in networked environments and take part in providing the legal community and allied professionals with the most up-to-date information regarding technology and the law. You will also learn the strategies and tactics that are essential to assist clients in implementing effective internal controls, protecting user privacy, preventing computer crime, leveraging intellectual property and avoiding regulatory scrutiny.
Participation in the group is conducted through the VirtuLaw platform. Upon acceptance of your application you must create an account by clicking on the Create new account tab in the User Login menu on the left side of your screen. Once your membership is accepted you will be provided with access to the platform and begin to learn how to use collaborative technologies to research legal issues. As your skills improve you will follow the VirtuLaw curriculum to learn about evolving legal issues relating to privacy, computer crime, electronic surveillance, corporate governance and intellectual property. After completion of the curriculum you will have the opportunity to contribute your findings to various publications including the book Information Security Law: Control of Digital Assets, which was published by American Lawyer Media in September 2006.
